It’s not just our ears that are used to help us hear. Our brain receives messages to help us detect and understand sounds so that we can communicate and respond appropriately. A hearing loss makes this difficult which can lead to poorer quality of life, isolation and lack of brain stimulation. A hearing aid takes the strain off you and helps to amplify the sounds that you’re missing.
We offer all styles of hearing aids and technologies to suit your lifestyle and budget. Whether you’re looking for a hearing aid that’s small and discreet or have additional features for volume control and streaming, we work with the leading manufacturers in the industry so we’re sure that we can find a hearing aid for you.
Your ears and hearing is unique to you, and we aim to tailor all of our hearing aids for you. We take into account ear size, hearing test results, cosmetic preference and any factors affecting your health to recommend the product that is best suited for you.
If you enjoy music or the occasional Netflix binge, you may prefer a hearing aid with Bluetooth connectivity. Or, if you’re someone who loves socialising and catching up with loved ones, you may be more suited to a hearing aid with better background noise reduction and speech enhancing technology.

Hearing Aid Service

Types of Hearing Aids Available

In the Ear (ITE)

This hearing aid covers the concha (bowl of the the ear), with all components within the unit so nothing is behind the ear. It has the benefit of being able to stream wirelessly to devices. These hearing aids are visible when looking at a person’s side profile.

Completely in the Canal (CIC)

This hearing aid is the same as ITE but a smaller unit that sits in the ear canal only and is not very visible from a side profile. Smaller unit, so less ‘bulk’.

Invisible in Canal (IIC)

The smallest and most discreet hearing aid which fits deeply in the ear canal. They usually have a darker colouring so that they are not easily seen and are the most discreet type of hearing aid available.

Receiver in Canal (RIC)

These hearing aids have a small unit that fits behind the ear which houses the microphone and amplifier. A coil connected to the unit conducts electrical signals to a receiver and then speaker that fits inside the ear, where it produces the sound. Additional options include volume control, additional programs, rechargeable options and Bluetooth connectivity.

Behind the Ear (BTE)

These hearing aids are similar to am RIC, but all of the components are in the unit behind the ear. The more powerful a hearing aid is in the BTE range, the larger the hearing aid tends to get. These hearing aids are mostly provided by the NHS

Wireless Accessories

As with any electrical device or technology, there are limitations. This also applies to hearing aids where the hearing aid experience can be limited by the situation the person is in. For example in a noisy bar or restaurant; a wireless accessory can boost the signal so that there is less need to depend on lip reading or asking people to repeat themselves. Another example would be watching TV with family and having to choose what level volume to have the TV at. To keep you involved and happy, a wireless accessory may be a useful investment.
